2017 PROGRAM PREVIEW
The GBG Hawks are heading into it's 2nd year of partnership with the Garciaparra Baseball Group. Year 1 saw some incredible success both for teams and individual players. After 7 years of running teams at the 13U-18U levels, the Hawks will be expanding to the 11U/12U transition ages playing on the 50'x70' fields in the New England Elite Baseball League. Interest is at an all time high for the program and we expect over 150 players to come out for these 2 age divisions.
For the last 3 years, RBI/GBG has fielded teams out of our satellite facility in Carver, MA but unfortunately 2017 will bring that portion of our program to a close. With our newly redesigned and renovated facility, we are running all baseball operations through our Foxboro facility to keep everything under one roof.
In 2017, we expect to have multiple teams at just about all age divisions. Here is a preview of our 2017 projected teams:
From 11U-14U, each age division will feature a "Black", "Blue" and potentially a "White" team. The "Black" team will compete in New England Elite Baseball League's (NEEBL) Division 1 and will play in some of the top tournaments in the area/region. Our "Blue" teams will compete in Division 1A of NEEBL while also competing in solid local tournament action. The "White" teams will be a mix of D1A and D2 teams in NEEBL depending on the specific team's overall talent level.
At the 15U-18U age divisions, each age will feature a "Northeast" team as well as a "Blue" team. Our "GBG-Northeast" teams will compete locally, regionally, and nationally and will play a very heavy tournament schedule from mid-June to early August. These teams are considered GBG's top teams and will feature high-level Varsity players with potential to play at the next level. Rosters for these teams are designed to compete in some of the top tournaments in the Northeast and across the country. The 15U-18U "Blue" teams will compete within the New England Elite Baseball League as well as participate in some of the top local and regional tournaments.
The GBG Hawks coaching staff features a variety of playing/coaching backgrounds with priorities set on player development, growing each player's love and passion for the game, and teaching player's how to win through teamwork, ultimate preparation and training. The GBG Hawks have set guidelines and policies outlined for the entire staff to operate within so that all Hawks teams follow the same path to success. Each staff consists of 2-3 coaches.
In 2016, the GBG Hawks coaching staff featured 28 former college baseball players, 5 former professional baseball players, 10 current high school varsity level coaches, 5 current college baseball coaches and 2 current college level head coaches.
Our network of coaches reaches well beyond the norm for travel baseball/college development programs and we are very proud of the talent, dedication, and passion our coaches display every day working with our GBG Hawks players.
